BrightPath Steam Academy One Day Virtual and Wash U Summer Camp

Dr. Jessica Wagenseil and students and faculty from the McKelvey School of Engineering helped host the BrightPath STEAM Academy One Day Virtual and WashU Summer Camp on July 21, 2023. Fifteen students were in person at Wash U, with several hundred additional students online and in person at two other sites. The students participated in three general sessions: Health Science, “Exploring the Amazing Brain”; Engineering, “Footwear Design”; Computer Science, “Programming and Flying Drones”, and Mathematics, “Math and Smart Money”. After their general sessions, the students went on lab tours in the McKelvey School of Engineering hosted by the Bioproducts Engineering Lab (Dr. Marcus Foston), Silva Lab for Cardiac Arrthymias (Dr. Jon Silva), Wang Research Group for Flexible and Stretchable Electronics (Dr. Chuan Wang), Musculoskeletal Soft Tissue Lab (Dr. Spencer Lake), Bayly Lab for Brain Biomechanics (Dr. Philip Bayly), and Environmental NanoChemistry Lab (Dr. Young-Shin Jun).
